Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani  has called for peace and unity among residents in the region.

Achani said that people from all ethnic backgrounds have the right to be served by both national and county governments.

“I urge you all to live peacefully with your neighbors, no matter which ethnic or religious background they come from. For our county to prosper, we need unity and peaceful co-existence,” Achani said.

She called Kwale people to shun tribal and political division saying peace and unity are key to socio-economic stability in any region.

She also urged Kwale County leaders to work together in the county development agenda for better service delivery.

“As the executive arm of government we have agreed to work closely with members of the County Assembly in the implementation of county development projects,” she added.

On matters of education, the Governor assured the people of Kwale that there are plans to increase the county bursary kitty, because the number of students is steadily increasing.

Achani also stated that under her leadership, the county government will prioritize health to ensure that the people of Kwale have access to quality and reliable healthcare services.

On water services she said that the county government will construct more dams and also improve the water infrastructure across the county.
