The Kwale water and sewerage company has urged Kwale Christian youth Investment group to follow laid down rules in managing the World Bank Ablution block for public use.

The group is among others that have won tenders to manage the Ablution blocks within Kwale town some months after they were opened by Governor Fatuma Achani.

Among laid down rules include gender based violence compliance, serving people living with special abilities with respect, treating all customers with respect and ensuring the washrooms are clean all the time.

Kwale water and Sewerage Company’s managing director Eric Parmet said that the blocks are very important for the community in ensuring they get services.

“Manage the Ablution block well you never know because we have many others that are going to be opened soon,” he said.

Speaking while handing over one of the Ablution block Parmet said that the blocks have a shop facility that can be made use of to do business while managing the wash rooms.

“The Ablution blocks have shop space that you can use to do business as long as it is not perishable stuff,” he said.

He said that the toilets are modern and that they require a lot of close attention for those who will be managing them for public use.

Kwale Christian youth investment group chair Vincent Nageri appreciated Kwale water and Sewerage Company for awarding them the Posta Ablution block

He said that the group will do everything possible to ensure the public within Kwale town get services all the time from the Ablution block management team.

“We are grateful for being awarded this Ablution block. We promise to serve the community around to their satisfaction,” he said.

Henry Kadenge, the Ablution block team leader said that the group has been working together as a group for many years from a merry-go-round to a savings group

He said that they are optimistic of making use of the Ablution block to serve the community as well as economically empowering its members through the shop.

Several other Ablution blocks are set to be handed over to youths, women and people living with disability groups to manage them within Kwale town and Ukunda once the process of tendering is done.
