    About 42 women group’s companies in Kwale get Sh50 million tenders from Kwale County Government during international women day

    Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani awarded 50 Million worth of tenders to 42 women,youths,and people living with disability Groups in Kwale County to mark the international women’s Day celebrations that were held at Kinango Baraza park.

    This year’s celebration theme is to ‘accelerate action for gender equality.’

    Governor Fatuma Achani has been mobilizing women groups across the County to transform their merry go around Groups into limited companies in order  to transact business with the Government and the private sector.

    Over 200 Women Groups transformed their groups into limited companies with 100 women limited companies securing tenders from Kwale County Government since Governor Achani assumed office in August 2022.

    Addressing thousands of women during the international Women’s Day celebrations held at Kinango Baraza Park,  Achani said that empowering women groups in the region will help them fight gender based violence cases.

    “By building women’s capacity, you build an entire society,”she added

    Achani called upon women and youth’s in the area to continue registering their groups as companies for them to have something in their pockets.

    Kwale County Deputy Governor Chirema Kombo and Kwale Women Representative Fatuma Masito asked women in Kwale amulate Governor Achani on championing women rights in Kwale.

    Also the leaders asked women to seek elective posts in the coming election so as to bridge the gap of women holding elective posts in Kwale.

    Meswalehe Abdallah,Kudzecha group tender beneficiary thanked Governor Achani administration saying the move has changed lives of many women in the area.

    “We are greatful as women of Kwale because our lives have changed economically as a result of the tenders we receive from Achani’s Administration we are normally paid on time once we have completed the task.”Meswale Said.

    Among the women group companies were issued with tenders include; Yawezekana ventures,Chongomundu Suppliers,Sambamba malungoni,Tuko mbele investment,Dzimanya Enterprise,Chigato visionary,Bofu muungano among others.

    Cleaning services of Kwale municipalities(Diani, LungaLunga,Kwale town,and Kinango)building and construction of county’s projects are some of the tenders the 42 women groups have received from Governor Achani at the international women’s Day celebrations at Kinango Baraza Park.
