The National UDA officials took president William Ruto 2027 re-election campaign to Kwale county accusing former president Uhuru Kenyatta of working with other leaders in ODM and other parties to destabilize president Ruto administration.

They claimed that Uhuru is out to get back into the country’s leadership through backdoors by sponsoring candidates to face off president William Ruto who defeated him in the 2022 general election.

Speaking at Milalani primary school in Msambweni Kwale during the women empowerment program where over Sh5 million was raised they warned the ODM party to make up their mind in supporting Ruto re-election and continue being in opposition forever.

United democratic Alliance secretary general Hassan Omar warned that since Ruto has a huge backing of North Eastern ODM should not waste time lest they be left out in the 2027 elections plans.

“You have seen that president Ruto has a good support from the North Eastern and now we are focused on 2027. We are telling our friends in ODM to make up their mind without wasting time to avoid regretting,” he said.

He was accompanied by Kwale governor Fatuma Achani , deputy party leader governor Issa Timamy,Tana River senator Danson Mungatana, Msambweni MP Feisal Badar and deputy government spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga among others.

Kwale governor Fatuma Achani said that the UDA party has embarked on recruitment of over 10,000 delegates ahead of the 2027 general election aimed at strengthening the party.

Achani said that they want to ensure president William Ruto gets enough support for his re-election urging everyone to get registered from the polling station level.

The UDA deputy party leader and Lamu governor Issa Timamy said that the Coast region will give president Ruto 95 per cent of votes in 2027.

“We have seen what the president has done in this area and we are convinced that Coast will this round give him more votes,” he said.

Msambweni MP Feisal Badar said that the Coast region has every reason to vote for Ruto second term after realizing development from his administration.

“In Msambweni we have electricity going to villages, we have other projects that include roads among others,” he added.

Tana River senator Danson Mungatana called on UDA and ODM to front their candidates separately without zoning saying that will ensure democracy is achieved without interference.

He said that a broad-based government plan should not disrupt individual party’s’ formation of candidates.
