State department for immigration and citizen services Launches national registration for students in collaboration with ministry of education in Ngomeni magarini kilifi county
Speaking at Ngomeni secondary school in Magarini sub county the principal Secretary Julius bitok says the government targets over 900,000 students currently writing their exams.
The government has also introduced live capture of applicants’ details by use of biometric technology, a process to take a maximum of 10 days.
The students will receive the third generation IDs also known as Maisha cards.
Additionally the government has assured Kenyans of no more delays in issuance of the cards.
However over 400,000 cards are lying uncollected at various registration offices across the country.
