Dzihoshe all stars are the new champions as the curtains of the second edition of Hon. Koki super cup fell down at Mariakani Vocational Training ground at Mariakani in Kilifi County.
Dzihoshe came from behind to force a 2 all draw in the normal playtime prompting the match to be decided on post-match penalties which saw Migundini Rangers losing 2 out of their 6 penalties as Dzihoshe netted 5 to carry the day.
Winner pocketed 50,000 cash prizes, playing kits and balls, Migundini went for Christmas with 30,000 cash prizes, jazzy and balls, while Energy Fc were awarded cash prize, 20,000, jazzy and ball.
In the girl’s category, Brave Starlets came from behind 2 nil as at half time to clinch the championship by thrashing Young Tiger Starlets by 4 goals, with Migundini ladies emerged third.
Twenty teams in the boys category and 4 teams in the girls category participated in the Koki Super cup second edition.
According to the sponsor of the tournament, Mariakani Ward member of county Assembly, Martha Koki, youth should dedicate their energy in ensuring they use their leisure time positively.
“There are more than just the presents that we have presented to the winners, I call upon Mariakani residents and all stakeholders to join hands to have these young generations have a better future.” Said Koki.
She maintained that cases of indispline among youth can be tackled if the youth are engaged in sporting activities, adding that,
“Over 600 youth have directly participated in this tournament, exhibiting their talents in football, I assure the youth that we will work with relevant stakeholders in the football industry to ensure all talents within are absorbed in higher levels.”
At the same time Koki, called on parents to guide their children especially this festive season adding that plans are underway to create a level ground to all talents within Mariakani.
