The Bible Translation and Literacy organization in partnership with the ministry of education and county government has officially launched mother tongue school books for three Kwale communities. The books are for the Digo, Duruma and Pokomo communities. The project has been realised through the development of a mother tongue education program for indigenous languages. A fisherman has been reported missing wnd two rescued after a boat capsized in the deep waters of the Indian Ocean off the Jomo Kenyatta public beach in Bamburi-in Mombasa. According to police the man is suspected to have drowned after the 7 pm incident on Thursday evening. The locals have been using over 3000 acres of land in the area for agricultural purposes for over 4 decades now before the defunct Ramisi sugar company collapsed in 1989.
