    Kwale governor, ABSA Bank officials meet SMEs in Kwale

    Kwale county government is open to investment and ready to support investors with good environment for investment, Govenor Fatuma Achani has said.

    Addressing a business stakeholders meeting organized by ABSA Bank at Diani Reef Hotel, Achani said that the county government of Kwale has constructed several beach access roads in Diani to ease transport of business and residents.

    “We have constructed the Kongo River cabro road, Shakatak road and Lofta road, and there are several other ongoing projects,” Achani said.

    Rehabilitation of street lights along the beach road that were vandalised, she said is part of her plan to continue putting Diani on the international map as a better destination.

    “My administration acknowledges the importance of the street lights because they provide security to the beach business community and locals as well,”she added.

    She challenged women in engaged in small medium enterprises SMEs to take up the lead role in forming companies for them to access government tenders and procurement opportunities.

    She said that time has come for women to take advantage of available opportunities in county government.

    On their side, ABSA Bank officials urged the Governor to ensure that SMEs are empowered by respective county departments on matters funding and how they can access business loans.

    The ABSA Bank team comprised of the Director of Customer Network Peter Mutua and Head of SME Banking Susan Situma.

    The two also asked Kwale county businessmen and women to take advantage of the various ABSA Bank products to boost their businessess.
