One of the marauding lions that has been terrorising Busho residents was trapped to death.

According to police the incident occurred on Tuesday night where irate residents set up a local made trap aimed at ending the prolonged problem.

“Following the reported cases of marauding lions in Busho and their invasion at Mr.Lung’anzi Chai homestead , The family set up a local made trap yesterday night and it trapped a male lion killing it on the spot,” police report indicated.

It is alleged that failure by the Kenya WildLife services official in Kwale to respond swiftly to human-wildlife-animals conflict has led to loss of properties and even lives at some point.

Locals alleged that KWS took long to respond to their cries prompting them to take drastic measures to curb the lions.

The dead lion was later untrapped by KWS officers and took its body to their camp according to police.

A recent incident of lion attack along the Kwale -Kinango road left a  boda boda operator dead.

Several people have lost lives in LungaLunga after being attacked by elephants with properties and farm crops being destroyed in Shimba hills, Kinango and Lungalunga by wildlife animals.
