The Kenya Dental Association (KDA) has issued a public advisory warning Kenyans against seeking dental services from unregistered practitioners posing as qualified dentists in Nairobi.

In a statement released on Thursday, the association president Kahura Mundia  raised concern over individuals operating under the name Smile4Life Dental, located in Buru Buru Phase 4, who are allegedly offering dental services without being registered to practice dentistry in Kenya.

According to the KDA, the individuals linked to the facility and advertising services through the phone numbers 0794 314 050 and 0756 737 520 are not known dentists within their official registry.

“Members of the public are strongly cautioned against seeking dental care from unregistered individuals or facilities claiming to have dentists,” the statement read in part. “Engaging with unqualified persons exposes patients to serious health risks”. Warned Mundia.

The association president urged anyone who may have suffered harm or has complaints arising from treatment at Smile4Life Dental or any other unregistered clinic to report the matter immediately to the nearest police station.

Additionally, the public is encouraged to notify the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) for regulatory action against illegal practice, masquerading, and touting.

KDA further reminded Kenyans to always confirm the registration and licensing status of their dentists through the official KMPDC website at https://kmpdc.go.ke/.

“Your safety is our priority,” KDA emphasized, calling for collective responsibility to uphold ethical dental practice and protect the public from quackery.
