A family in Nairobi is demanding unconditional release of their kin being held at kitengela police Station since Wednesday, 4 December 2024.
John Odhiambo Otieno is said to have been arrested and placed at Kitengela police station cell since Wednesday, 4 December 2024.
According to the family, he was allegedly arrested for obtaining money by false pretence.
Unfortunately, 24 hours later, they said that police failed to present him before a court of law to take a plea.
Sources have indicated that John had failed to pay money given to him by a shylock resorting to using police intimidation tactics to have him paid.
“The issue at hand is civil, which is supposed to be resolved amicably and not a criminal issue as it is being painted,” said one of the family members.
They want police to follow the laws in regard to suspects and arrests by releasing John unconditionally for infringing his constitutional rights.
