The Stadium whose construction is at 70 per cent is scheduled to host this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations.

It is the first national event since independence to be held in Kwale.

Business in the area is already experiencing changes with more youths being recruited to work at the various construction sites.

Apart from the Stadium, work is also going on for the construction of a state lodge, roads pavements and tarmacking of roads within Kwale town.

The event is giving Kwale township a major facelift with business expected to be booming according to Kwale governor Fatuma Achani.

This year’s Mashujaa Day theme is “Affordable Housing” with the government set to showcase the progress made so far.

Governor Achani who accompanied PS Omolo and deputy government spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga said that the county is ready to host the national event.

She said that the event has helped her administration by ensuring the Stadium is complete.

“You have seen a stadium that we have been doing in phases. It is going to be complete in a very short period. We really appreciate president William Ruto for choosing to host the event in Kwale,” she said.
