Linda Mwananchi Movement Party leader Edwin Sifuna has taken his presidential campaign trail to Kwale County, issuing a strong call for opposition leaders to unite behind a single candidate ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The political charm offensive comes just a day after the movement officially rebranded into a political party and opened its national headquarters in Nairobi.

Sifuna, accompanied by a brigade of opposition leaders, led a series of high-stakes rallies traversing Samburu, Kinango, Kwale, and Ukunda towns, where the message of a united front took center stage.

Addressing crowds during the tour, Sifuna sharply criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration, characterizing it as oppressive and accusing it of routinely flouting both the Constitution and the rule of law.

The Nairobi Senator claimed that President William Ruto has lost the public confidence that swept him into power.

"When you look at the country right now, there is nowhere William Ruto has votes. Kenyans have lost faith in him, and they are now ready to send him home," Sifuna declared.

Echoing the call for solidarity, alliance leaders warned that internal divisions within the opposition could inadvertently hand the ruling party an easy victory in the upcoming polls.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino challenged prominent opposition figures including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Fred Matiang’I to cast aside personal ambitions for the collective good.

"Look for Gachagua, Kalonzo, Matiang’i, and all the other leaders. Agree on one candidate and put all our votes in one basket because united we stand, divided we fall," Owino urged.

Meanwhile, Trans Nzoia county representative George Natambeya expressed confidence in a decisive opposition victory, asserting that the coalition would deploy rigorous vote-protection mechanisms to secure their tally independently of the electoral commission.

"Before IEBC announces the winner, we will already know how many votes our presidential candidate has. This time round, we are not going to the Supreme Court," Nambeya stated.

Vihiga County senator Godfrey Osotsi said that it is only Edwin Sifuna presidency that can help Coast people reclaim their grabbed land.

“We must all rally behind Sifuna for us to ensure those with land issues in the coast region are helped. We have the Kwale international sugar company land that belongs to residents in Msambweni,” he said.

Senator Richard Momoima Onyonka from Kisii County said that the different presidential candidates will be locked in one room and pick one amongst them with the ability to beat president Ruto.

“We will ask them to write a name of that person they think can defeat president Ruto and we are sure the deal will be done,” he said in Diani.
