One unique factor that stands undisputed about Governor Fatuma Mohammad Achani's administration is the rapid opening of major international retail stores in Kwale County, particularly around Diani. In barely four years, we have seen the French multinational retail and wholesaling corporation, Carrefour Supermarket, open its second branch at Nyumba Tatu (Rubis Petrol Station).
This doesn't happen by chance. It speaks volumes about the investor confidence that Governor Achani's leadership has built over time. Today, as you drive along the Diani-Ukunda-Kona Musa-Nyumba Tatu-Mvindeni-Mwabungo stretch, you notice serious business investments taking root. Modern vertical buildings are rising all along the beachline and the main Likoni-Lunga Lunga highway, testifying to investors' deep trust in Governor Achani's leadership. Governor, kongole for the business-friendly policies you have personally spearheaded.
Just recently, we also welcomed a branch of Hot Point—a premier distributor and retailer of electronic goods and home appliances in Kenya—expanding its footprint in Diani. Fellow Kwaleans, this is the kind of leadership we want for our people. This is the leadership we have been yearning for: one that instills investor confidence and delivers true economic prowess.
While other political camps continue to peddle tribal shenanigans and belittle Governor Fatuma Achani because of her gender, we keep our eyes on the larger prize: serving the people of Kwale diligently.
