    Six Italian tourists among 10 missing after boat capsize in Watamu

    Six Italian tourists are missing after marine excursion boat capsize with about 40 tourists in Watamu, Kilifi oj Saturday morning.

    They are among 10 people, poloce says are trying their best to trace them in a rescue operation mission that was launched immediately.

    The boat capsized off the Garoda beach in Watamu according to police and Kenya Wildlife services officials joint operation is going on.

    Police reports indicate that the missing tourists were out to watch dolphin during the marine safari excursions.

    Those rescued witnesses said that they managed to board other boats after theirs capsized especially the Italian tourists while Kenyans are reportedly drowned.

    The incident happened few days after the ministry of marine and Blue economy directed that all boats to be checked before being licensed to venture into the sea.

    The directive was meant to ensure security of tourists using the vessels into the deep sea.

    The area has the best-known beaches in Kenya that is highly frequented by local and international tourists.
