Effort by Kilifi county secretary Martin Mwaro gaining access to his office was thwarted by goons led by three Kilifi MCAs on Monday as chaos reigned the compound.

Drama unfolded after Mwaro who was reportedly sacked unceremoniously was evicted from his office after successfully gaining access to his office through court order.

After arriving with a convoy of four vehicles in the afternoon Mwaro drove to the gates of the Deputy Governor’s office where his office is housed and was allowed in by the county enforcement offices amid tensions.

Later goons led by county assembly Majority leader Ibrahim Abdi Matumbo, majority whip Twahir Abdulkarim and Junju ward MCA Said Juma Kanyangweso arrived, went inside and forcefully evicted the CS.

Mwaro was fog matched to the gates and ordered to leave immediately by the goons and the MCAs this was in disregard of a court order.

Mwaro told the journalists who were barred from getting into the offices during the incident that he had gone to the office after obtaining a court order.

The 27 years’ public service officer said that it was then that he was informed of his office keys having been taken by the interim secretary when the charged goons and MCAs threw him out.

During the incident the two parties almost went physical with a security officer being forced to use his gun to restore calm when the goons and MCAs resorted to assault the county secretary.

Mwaro maintained that he was in discussion with the county legal advisor when goons attacked him saying he will use all means to clean his imaged built over 27 years in public service.

“I have no personal problem with the Governor but I must clear my name that I have built for the last 27 years in public service and that is why I moved to court to challenge the accusations leveled against me,” he said.

The Majority leader of county assembly Ibrahim Abdi Matumbo on his part said that they evicted Mwaro because he was sacked and had no business in the office.

Junju ward MCA Said Juma Kanyangweso said that they were called and told the former CS had returned to office that is why they came to evict him as he was sacked and is not allowed in office.

Locals who had visited county offices for services were shocked to see Mwaro being treated like a criminal by MCAS and their goons terming the incident as unfortunate.

Frankli Nzao said that the incident is a true picture of Mung’aro leadership warning that he might be one of the one-time governors in the country.

Moses Matano, a resident, said that he was shocked beyond imagination seeing an officer who has been in government serving citizens being treated with a lot of disrespect regardless of what was happening between him and governor Gideon Mung’aro.
