A 16 years old minor has been rescued from a violent “husband employer” at (maramuni) Tumaini village in Kwale town on Thursday after a sting operation.

It is claimed that the minor who traveled from Makueni county to work at the “husbands’ house  who had requested for a house help turned out to be a housewife.

Sources say that the minor has been working and doubling as wife for five months before things went south.

On Wednesday, sources say that the minor went to a saloon to have her hair plaited only to have the violent “husband” violently yanking the girl’s rastas as residents watched.

This is how the minor was identified with Tumaini village community security rescuing her.

The incident was reported at Kwale police station with locals condemning the act and called for immediate action to be taken to arrest the suspect and bring him to book

Once arrested the suspect will face defilement according to the law.

A person who commits an act which causes penetration with a child is guilty of an offence termed defilement.

A who commits an offence of defilement with a child aged eleven years or less shall upon conviction be sentenced to imprisonment for life.

Elsewhere in the same Tumaini (Maramuni) village a junior secondary school minor was caught having stolen a phone from a neighbor.

“He went to pick up the phone in my house and someone saw him before I followed up and got it from teachers at Kwale primary school after the boy was searched,” said the victim.

Sources say that the boy has also been caught in various theft cases in the school including stealing two phones from his teacher and a bicycle from his colleague.
