Kwale was reported to have more than 200, 000 people facing severe hunger. Kinango and Samburu locals are the most affected. Kwale business community have threatened to petition President William Ruto to dissolve the Kwale county government for a fresh election claiming the assembly has refused to approve county executive nominee names presented to them a month ago. Led by Richard Onsongo, the group said that delay to approve CECM has jeopardized service delivery in the area. “We cannot allow the MCAs to hold the county government of Kwale at ransom. Kaya Elders in the Coastal region have called out the Judiciary to address historical land injustices being the reason many of them are being killed. The Malindi District Cultural Association (MADCA) elders pointed their gun at the Environment and Lands Court to speed up the Cases of land in the region. Exams distribution exercise to various primary schools started on Monday morning from 6: am during the official opening. It has emerged that Monica Achieng, the 13 years old class six in Mwandeo Primary did not fall while playing as indicated by the school management during their first admission.
