    Chidzuga urge Kwale residents to use government projects and programs for self empowerment

    Deputy government spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga has urged Kwale residents make use of government projects and programs in the area in order to empower themselves and earn a living.
    Speaking over the weekend at Matuga, Kinango, Msambweni and Lungalunga constituencies, Chidzuga said that the affordable housing project at Kwale town, on-going construction of maritime college at Chitsakamatsa area waa ward among others that could create employment opportunities to the residents.
    ‘’All these projects by national government are jobs opportunities for you, go get employed at these projects and you will earn a living out of them,” she said.
    She also encouraged women to be supplying cooked foods at the construction areas which will also boost their businesses.
    “For our mothers who cannot get employed at the construction areas, you can be supplying food to the people working at the construction sites and that will boost your businesses,’’ Chidzuga said.
    She also stated that youth and women groups should register as companies so as to get business tenders from county and national government.
    “We have most women in and youth groups who are doing table banking please register these groups as companies and apply for tenders in government. Your applications will be considered for these tenders and you will develop,” she said.
    Chidzuga noted that the government has also come up with different funds like Inua Jamii, Hustler funds, women enterprise funds among others which are all set to assist Kenyans empower and boost their businesses.
    “These funds are there to assist businessmen and women and even youth apply for these funds and empower yourselves,” she insisted.
    Other key projects undertaken by the national government that will benefit locals in kwale County and coast reagion at large is the construction of the sh. 2.6 Billion shimoni fish project which is currently at 61 percent complete, a ginnery to bolster textile apparel value, construction of Kenya medical research institute laboratories, construction of a fish jetty cause- way among other projects in the Blue economy.
    The projects are being implemented by ministries, departments, Agencies, constitutional commissions and independent offices in the national government aligned with the BETA plan.
