Kenya Kwanza leaders take on opposition leader over campaigns against president William Ruto

Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio party, has been reprimanded for his on-going campaign against President William Ruto by Agrickulture CS Mithika Linturi and Kenya Kwanza leaders.

At a fundraiser held at Athi Catholic Church in Igembe South, the opposition leader was asked to accept that Dr. Ruto had won the presidency. Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka was also present.

“We went to the polls. The Supreme Court ruled after the losers appealed “Mr. Lusaka continued by saying that the government should be allowed to focus on development.

The former senate speaker added that Kenyans are worn out after the election and that they should be left to enjoy the fruits of election.

Given that the IEBC was the same organization that released results for governors, members of parliament, and other elected offices, Lusaka argued that the IEBC should not be held accountable for how it announced the victor of the presidential election.

He stated, “They’re claiming the IEBC is evil, but it’s the same body that’s crowned Governors, MPs, and MCAs. Let’s accept the people’s choice and be calm.

The Central Imenti MP Moses Kirima, Igembe South MP John Mwirigi and MCA Silas Mithika weighed in the issue saying that President Ruto had won properly and ought to be permitted to deliver to Kenyans.

According to Agriculture CS Linturi lack of evidence to challenge Ruto elections should be a good reason for the opposition to stop politics a few months after election.

“After five months, we cannot begin campaigns; that is not logical, ” said Linturi, adding that the continuing politicking lacked justification.

The leaders also criticized opposition leader Raila Odinga for castigating Jubilee MPs who have agreed to work with president Ruto saying it is their rights that cannot be taken from them.

They claimed that even Raila after the 2017 election went to work with former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

“This man is out to destabilize the government so that it fails to deliver and that is something we have realized but our president will not be distracted,’ said MP Mwirigi.
