Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has held its coast REGIONAL 1 games competition at the Msambweni Campus in Kwale County.

The tournament involved all the 9 campuses within the coast region.

The campuses include, Msambweni, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Port Reitz, Voi, Lamu, Tana River, Kwale and Mombasa.

The competitions were organized to cover both indoor and outdoor games.

Kilifi campus principal Alex Ndeche said that the Regional 1 games were organized for the students to keep physical fitness and good health.

According to Ndeche the games were put on a halt due to the COVID 19 pandemic that caused the seizure of normal activities worldwide.

Ndeche said that apart from physical fitness and good health the games are also used to champion campaigns against drugs abuse by the students.

“These games will help the students use their free and leisure time well as well as help them s discover and nurture their talents on top of being academicians” he said.

Voi campus principal, Mr. Lwambi said winners of Regional 1 competitions will proceed to participate in Regional 2 games.

“Thereafter participants and winners will be chosen to rrepresent the coast region nationally as one Team that will be held in Eastern” he said.

Lwambi added that the games will help to reduce dexpression among students.

The games are also meant to promote ssocialization and aassociation of the students from the different campuses in the region where the students exchange ideas among each other.
