Elected leaders in Kwale have put aside their political affiliations for the sake of unity and prosperity.

The leaders have resolved to work as a team despite being elected from different political parties.

Kwale Senator Issa Boi said that they have resolved to put their political affiliations aside for the sake of prosperity and unity.

About 48 county assembly speakers among other dignitaries attended the colorful event that was meant to welcome speaker Seth Kamanza home after being elected speaker recently.

He insisted they have resolved to do so for the sake of the electorate and delivery of service to them.

“We have opened a new political chapter for all the local elected leaders from grassroots to county level for the sake of development,” he said.

Issa urged those in elective positions to learn to appreciate the role they were elected to serve.

He was speaking during a homecoming party for Kwale county speaker Seth Kamanza held at Mwamdudu village, Kinango constituency.

He said he is ready to work with all legislators and county members of assembly irrespective of their political affiliation for the sake of the electorate.

“I will work with the governor hand in hand without discrimination for delivery of services and development,” said Boi

Kwale Deputy Governor Josphat Chirema Kombo asked elected leaders to bury their political differences during the 2022 campaigns period and open a new chapter to work as a team.

He urged them to ensure they put their political differences aside for the sake of development and the county electorate.

“Election circle is after every five years but the country remains the same while leaders come and go during every election period,” he pointed out.

Kwale county Woman Representative Fatuma Masito cautioned elected leaders against fighting their competitors in the political arena.

“The elected leaders must learn how to assist the electorate to be in the position to do so,” she pointed out.

Masito added that speaker Seth Kamanza should look ahead in the 2027 election as he deserved to be elevated to another ladder during the coming polls.
