By REPORTER Coastal Tourism stakeholders have petitioned the national government to allow back direct flights of Turkish airlines to Mombasa as a way of boosting tourism. Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers coast region executive Sam Ikwaye said some of the restrictions imposed on some airlines are hurting the tourism economy on the coast. According to them the government stopped the direct flights of Turkish Airlines to Mombasa in 2020 due to Covid-19 and has since then affected the tourism sector. About 75 postmortems for bodies that were retrieved from the Shakahola forest have been conducted by government Pathologists by Wednesday. With the exercise entering its third day on Wednesday experts include Homicide Detectives, DCI, Forensic Experts and Government Chemist Expert. The County government of Kilifi has received 200 body capacity refrigerated mobile container morgue from the Kenya Red Cross Society to cut down the overflow of bodies at the Malindi Sub-County hospital.
