    KMTC Regional 1 games held at Msambweni

    Kenya Medical Training Collegeย (KMTC)ย hasย held itsย coastย REGIONAL 1 games competition at the Msambweni Campus in Kwale County.

    Theย tournament involved all the 9 campuses within the coast region.

    The campuses include,ย Msambweni, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Port Reitz, Voi, Lamu, Tana River, Kwaleย andย Mombasa.

    The competitions were organized to cover both indoor and outdoor games.

    Kilifi campus principalย Alex Ndecheย saidย that the Regional 1 gamesย were organized for the students to keep physical fitness and good health.

    According to Ndeche the games were put onย aย halt due to the COVID 19ย pandemicย that caused the seizure of normalย activitiesย worldwide.

    Ndeche saidย that apart from physical fitness and good health the games areย also used toย championย campaignsย againstย drugsย abuseย by theย students.

    โ€œThese gamesย will help the students use their free and leisure time wellย as well asย help themย s discoverย and nurtureย their talentsย on top ofย being academiciansโ€ he said.

    Voi campus principal,ย Mr. Lwambiย saidย winners of Regional 1 competitions willย proceed to participate inย Regional 2 games.

    “Thereafter participants and winners will be chosen toย rrepresentย theย coastย regionย nationally as one Team that will be held in Eastern”ย he said.

    Lwambi addedย that the games will help toย reduceย dexpression among students.

    The games are also meant to promote ssocialization and aassociation of the students from the different campuses in the region where the students exchange ideas among each other.
