    Kwale governor launches Tuungane Tiwi CBO to empower over 3000 locals

    Kwale County Governor Fatuma Achani and her Deputy Chirema Kombo, has officially launched the Tuungane Tiwi Community-Based Organisation (CBO) in Tiwi Ward, Matuga Sub-County.

    The CBO brings together more than 65 groups with over 3,000 members. It aims to promote community development by empowering residents, supporting vulnerable groups, creating economic opportunities, and mobilising members to participate in development initiatives.

    Speaking during the official launch of the CBO and the opening of its office in Tiwi,Governor Achani congratulated the women’s groups for coming together and urged them to transform the organisation into a Limited company to enable them to access tenders with the government and private sector.

    “For the organisation to remain strong and sustainable, it must have a strong financial base. I urge the members to strengthen their savings and work together to build a financially stable organisation that can support its members and undertake meaningful development projects,” Governor Achani said.

    Deputy Governor Chirema Kombo urged members to maintain unity and cooperation to ensure the organisation achieves its objectives and remains sustainable.

    “For the organisation to succeed, members must respect their leaders, while leaders must also respect those they lead. This will help us achieve the goals of the organisation,” said Deputy Governor Kombo.

    The Chairperson of Tuungane Tiwi CBO,Bioza Hamisi Suche thanked Governor Achani and the Kwale County Government for their support, saying the organisation will provide members with opportunities to improve their livelihoods and advance their development.

    Present were; County Solicitor Kisiwa Koja,Chief Officers Athumani Mwashando(Health-preventive),Salim Zimbu(Roads), Kitsao Mjimba Health(curative), chief of staff Joshua Mdoe, Political Advisor Mshenga Ruga, Economic Advisor Anthony Yama, directors, Administrators among other county officials.
