Deputy Government Spokesperson, Ms. Mwanaisha Chidzuga, has officially launched a special nutrition program for students sitting their national examinations in public schools across Kwale County.

Chidzuga, who is also eyeing the Kwale County Woman Representative seat in the 2027 elections under the UDA party, stepped in to ensure that no student sits for their exams on an empty stomach.

The annual initiative is set to benefit over 7,000 candidates from both public primary and secondary schools within the county giving hope to thousands of pupils across the region.

The intervention comes as a major relief following cries from many local parents over severe food insecurity, a situation that previously forced students to sit for their career-defining national papers without proper meals or sometimes with an empty stomach.

Speaking during the launch, which brought together public school teachers, Ms. Chidzuga assured the community that there are adequate food supplies ahead of the national examinations scheduled to kick off next week.

"This year, we have enough food for more than 7,000 candidates who will be sitting for their exams in public primary and secondary schools within Kwale County. Candidates should not suffer from hunger during these national examinations starting next week," said Ms. Chidzuga.
