The Kwale County Government has officially handed over 24 new motorbikes to Ward Administrators and Sub-County Enforcement Officers, a strategic move aimed at boosting grassroots service delivery and strengthening local security.
The fleet—distributed to 20 Ward Administrators and four Sub-County Enforcement Officers—was handed over during an official ceremony at the County Headquarters.
County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Public Service and Administration, Karua Tsiwezi, presided over the event on behalf of Governor Fatuma Achani.
    Boosting Mobility and Governance
Speaking at the launch, Tsiwezi emphasized that the vehicles are a direct investment in overcoming geographical barriers to governance.
“These motorbikes will strengthen our officers’ ability to reach the people they serve,” Tsiwezi stated. “They will improve mobility, enhance enforcement, and ensure that county services are delivered closer to residents across all 20 wards, especially in our most remote areas.”

    Relief for Field Officers
Beneficiaries expressed immediate relief, noting that transport challenges have historically hindered their field operations.
    • Rocha Mriphe (Puma Ward Administrator): “We used to face many challenges accessing remote areas because we lacked reliable transport. These motorbikes will help us reach residents on time, monitor projects, and respond more effectively to community issues.”
    • Mwanajuma Rajab (Msambweni Sub-County Enforcement Officer): Highlighted that the new fleet will drastically cut response times during active enforcement operations, allowing officers to move swiftly across their jurisdictions.
    Commitment to Grassroots Service
This initiative is part of a broader, ongoing strategy by Governor Fatuma Achani’s administration to equip front-line county staff with the logistical tools necessary for effective public administration.
