Through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund, Masito said that the relief food targets disabled, widows and orphans selected from drought prone areas of Kinango,LungaLunga and some parts of Matuga. Kwale County has estimated about 200,000 locals facing starvation due to prolonged drought according to the National Drought Management Authority. Johnson Chengo Environmental activist in Kilifi County has faulted the decision by the state and County government of Kilifi that allowed the approoting and exporting of baobab trees to foreign countries. By reporter Kwale county’s health sector to get a major boost following plans by AMREF AFRICA in partnership with the national government to set up a state-of-the-art oxygen plant in the county. The sh 99.065 million project will be constructed at the Lunga-Lunga sub-county hospital where it will serve other county health facilities. Residents in Kilifi County should prioritize Mangrove tree planting to improve the economy and address the effects of climate change, Grow with us founder Kelly Banda has said.
