Since 2013 during former governor Salim Mvurya leadership deputized by Achani the County Government of Kwale has been promoting dairy farming through distribution of in-calf heifers to selected livestock keepers across the County.

A Norm, the primary beneficiary is required to hand over the first heifer to a secondary beneficiary from within the ward so as to spread the benefits to more beneficiaries.

Addressing residents of Dzombo Ward during the issuance of second Generation Heifers, Governor Fatuma Achani said that her administration will continue to promote dairy farming through the distribution of dairy cows and goats to small-scale farmers.
